Meeting Andy Reid MBE
In October 2009, Corporal Andy Reid MBE was blown up by a Taliban improvised explosive device while on patrol in Helmand Province, Afghanistan.
Injured so badly that it was thought he would not survive, he defied the odds to the extent that, within a month, he was able to meet up with members of his patrol again.
What he has achieved since then is little short of unbelievable.
Andy is a motivational speaker, and author of his book Standing Tall and an all round lovely bloke.

"I met up with David Judd a few weeks ago after connecting on Linkedin, David is a LBKA (paper cut) and loved walking in the great outdoors, but he was struggling with the prosthetic leg he had.
So being from an engineering background he invented his own inserts. David kindly gave me a set to try out and I have been amazed at the outcome. I can take longer strides, my back has stopped aching and my posture has improved. If you're a leg amputee give David a shout."
Andy Reid MBE - Veteran & Amputee since 2009

"It's bloody amazing, not too heavy but just the right support to aid the walk". "Hips moving better, lower back easier as sacroiliac joint has that more even movement, though as such the joint don't move, it's only got 3mm of play".
"But it's all about uniformity in the walk", "I'm well chuffed"
Jez Scarratt - Falklands Veteran & Lower Leg Amputee since 1982
"I have been using Walk Sure's carbon fibre shoe inserts for some time.
They help to make up and mimic flexibility lost through no longer having an ankle joint.
They are remarkable in their simplicity"
Lord Mackinlay - Former MP & Limb Amputee since 2023

It has gone well, I have only tried them a few times and love them. It is in the middle of my golf season though, so I have yet to try them golfing as I don't want to have to change my swing. I will keep you posted next season when I plan to use them each outing!

Ladies and Gents. I'm a RBKA and have had many issues over the years with walking, especially uphill and longer distances. Today I received my carbon fibre shoe insert from Walk Sure, I have honestly got to say that it is possibly the best thing I have ever bought in my life. I don't know how it works but it really does. David at walk Sure is really helpful and the service is first class. this is an honest opinion from someone who has struggled since my amputation.
